Join Our Celebration of Global Refugee Day

Our theme is humanitarianism. Our objective is to provide support to organizations whose work focusses on serving refugee communities. Proceeds from the Emerge Gala 2021 will go to Plant it Forward and the United Nation’s Human Rights Fund.

Plant It Forward is an organization who focus on refugee career education and entrepreneurship in urban agriculture.

Founded in 2011 by a family of philanthropic entrepreneurs, Plant it Forward wanted to create a mechanism to enable the similarly entrepreneurial ambitions of refugees being resettled in Houston. Refugees with agricultural backgrounds are resettled here with few options for finding meaningful, dignified work that utilizes their skill sets.
